For my #ThrowbackThursday blog post, I’d like you to watch a quick video that highlights the concept of Falling Forward, delivered by Hollywood star Denzel Washington...
One of my favorite inspirational speeches of all time. In order to be great, we will have to fail—Fall Forward!
You will fail at some point in your life. Accept it. You will lose. You will embarrass yourself. You will suck at something. There is no doubt about it.
~Denzel Washington
Did you know that Thomas Edison conducted 1,000 failed experiments? #1,001 was the light bulb. Every failed experiment is one step closer to success. You may fail at something every day, that’s part of life but falling forward after we fail is the big thing to take from this speech and blog.
I will tell you something I’m personally going through that I am failing at. I’m a smoker. It’s an awful habit that presents extremely bad health risks, yet I do it. I fail every time I light one up and continue to cause more harm to my body. What I’m doing about it? This blog is a daily reminder for me to strive to be greater in every area of my life, I’m choosing to eat healthier, work out harder, run more even when I don’t feel like I can anymore because one day I know I’ll wake up and not have the urge to light up a cigarette. Im Falling Forward.
We all have skeletons in our closet or things were not proud of or things we wish we could change about ourselves or our lives. Falling Forward is a helpful reminder that when things go wrong and we fail, it’s only going to make US stronger in the end!
