I thought I would focus on something that everyone can identify with as my first official blog post--Pain.
Pain is such as scary word, it hurts to say it but even worse to feel it. I've come across a few social media outlets that aid in my ability to cope, the first is @newyouinspire and @goalcast, two important resources I'd recommend following on your healthy living and inspirational journey. These two pages I follow for many reasons, when I find myself at a loss for motivation, or need inspiration or to be uplifted listening to someone else's story, @newyouinspire and @goalcast delivers!
Let's focus on the still image captioned in this post "Pain Is Temporary --Quitting Lasts Forever". I invite you to refer to an article published on @goalcast for more information and insight regarding pain http://bit.ly/2HkBLGu. It's a great article that discusses why we run from pain and how we can combat it. My interpretation of this article and the still image below is this... So many of us feel as tho we are constantly pushing that 'rock' uphill or we are constantly in an uphill battle everyday. For some, it may be stress in everyday life that beats you down (marriage issues, family dynamics, work life, etc), more inner problems such as depression or anxiety or insecurities we haven't dealt with. For others it may be more deeper such as a non-curative disease, mental illness, or addiction. Whatever your uphill battle may be, there are ways to face it head on.
I'll end with this thought... When you're going through pain that seems unbearable and unstoppable turn to your anchors to help get you through - family, loved ones, extended support networks and faith in a higher power to name a few. For my next blog, we'll focus on 'finding our anchors' and dig deeper in how we can emerge from that "cloud" that consumes our lives at times and how we can propel through.
