As we embark on the upcoming holiday season, we must remember to be grateful for what we have and #payitforward.
The theme for today is about paying it forward. More importantly how random acts of kindness can go a long way to improve quality of life for oneself and others around us. We all have the ability to help someone in need or do the little things to impact someone’s life when they least expect it.
Here are a few ways to start paying it forward.
1. Do a favor to someone in need without getting anything in return.
2. Do something charitable like donating clothes to your local Salvation Army or join a cause like a 5k.
3. Spend part of your day at a homeless shelter, or bring flowers to a nursing home.
4. Reach out to a friend who you’ve lost touched with or a family member.
5. Be kind to yourself, strive to make self-care part of your everyday life.
Did you notice that none of these random acts will break the bank account? It’s not about how big of a favor you can do for someone, or how much you could donate or how long you spend at the homeless shelter—it‘s about the act of doing it and for the right reasons.
As we continue through this time of year, I will share more tips on how to incorporate random acts of kindness into your life. And hopefully that healthy mindset will continue not just on Thanksgiving or Christmas but at all times of the year.
Watch this 5 minute incredible reminder that kindness keeps the world afloat. Get inspired today to pay it forward and be the light that helps others see.
